Mdm Tham Siang Wah Receives the Outstanding STEM Teacher Award

Hwa Chong Institution is proud to announce that Mdm Tham Siang Wah, Senior Teacher of Mathematics, has been honoured with the prestigious Outstanding STEM Teacher Award (OSTA). This biennial award is a significant accolade, co-organised by the Science Teachers Association of Singapore (STAS) and the Singapore Association for the Advancement of Science (SAAS), with the support of the Ministry of Education.

The Outstanding STEM Teacher Award recognises educators who are exemplary role models in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). It celebrates those who have made meaningful contributions and impactful advancements in STEM education and programmes within their schools.

Mdm Tham’s dedication to her students and her innovative approach to education are reflected in her teaching philosophy:

“I teach Mathematics. I teach students Mathematics. I teach students. I teach students about life, living to grow and to serve. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) is the medium through which I do so.”
