Chinese New Year Celebration 2025

Kicking off the Chinese New Year festivities, the school gathered for a joyous combined assembly at the terraces, where our Principal Mr. Lee Peck Ping shared his well wishes, a spectacular dragon dance performance thrilled the audience, and Cai Shen made a special visit to spread prosperity and good fortune.

The High School celebrations began with a lively lion dance performance by our Scouts, setting a festive tone for the day! The crowd was thrilled by vibrant group performances, including a medley of joyous tunes by the Chinese Orchestra and School Band. Adding a unique twist, our talented teachers delivered a lively song performance, while students amazed the audience with breakdancing and wushu moves, creating a high-energy showcase that left everyone in awe.

The spotlight also shone on individual talents, such as an engaging crosstalk performance by Wang Haoyu, Lucas (1P2), and Wayne Du Yihui (1P2), which brought laughter and smiles all around. Fwa Shao Xuan Lyon (3O1) mesmerised the audience with his guzheng solo, while Mr Yeong Chan Kong from the MTL department captivated everyone with fun and fascinating insights about the Year of the Snake. The celebration continued with a dynamic wushu performance before ending on a heartwarming note with a whole-school singalong session led by the Chinese teachers.

The College Concert was a dazzling showcase of talent, bringing together diverse CCA groups for a morning of unforgettable performances. The Chinese Orchestra and Weyoung set the stage with enchanting melodies, filling the air with festive cheer. The Wushu team stunned the audience with their precise, powerful movements, while the PSG mesmerised with a dynamic dragon dance. MAD Chinese performers captivated with a beautifully rich cultural display, adding depth and tradition to the celebration. An interactive gameshow injected excitement, as students eagerly joined in, their enthusiasm matched by the crowd’s roaring cheers. To top it all off, the Students’ Council (SECCo) ignited the festive spirit with a high-energy Chinese New Year sing-along, leaving everyone on a high note.
