National Project Work Festival 2026
The Inaugural National Project Work Festival, held on 9 Mar 2026 and organised by the Ministry of Education’s Curriculum Planning & Development Division, brought together students and educators from across the nation to celebrate impactful ideas and solutions.
Two Hwa Chongian A-Level Project Work teams were among the 10 shortlisted nationwide to participate in the Marketplace-of-Ideas Pitch, where they presented solutions addressing real-world problem statements to a panel of experts from partner agencies, including the Land Transport Authority, Urban Redevelopment Authority Singapore, National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, National Heritage Board Singapore, and Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment Singapore.
Shi Qingyue, Jazel Neo Zi-Min, Liu Lexi, and Chew Ee Khai from 25S6K tackled the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre’s problem statement: “Building a More Caring Society,” proposing ways to increase intrinsic motivation among youths who volunteer. Jazel and Lexi, who pitched on behalf of the team, clinched 3rd prize.
Chan Xin Hui, Franisbel Lee Yu Rou, Isaiah Ho Songjie, Koh Wen Huai, and Pan Ziying from 25S77, represented by Wen Huai and Ziying, responded to the Urban Redevelopment Authority Singapore’s problem statement, “Planning for Sustainability.” They suggested ideas on how part of Long Island could be developed as recreational spaces for senior citizens.
Other Hwa Chongian Project Work groups also participated in a poster exhibition showcasing strong ideas from the 2025 PW cohort.
Lai Yincheng, Zhao Xiangyu Daniel, Kayla Chua Ee-Xin, and Lee Le Yi Esther (25S79) showcased their project on reducing the communication gap between teenagers and their parents.
Huang Ju, Liu Shijia, Pan Bolin, He Yuxin David, and Yang Habin (25S65) showcased their project on deepening youths’ understanding and appreciation of traditional values in Singapore.
Meanwhile, teachers from primary schools, secondary schools, and junior colleges across Singapore attended interdisciplinary PW sharings and corporate training workshops conducted by Anagram Group.
“On the day of the competition, as we were leaving school, we came across a quote etched on a school wall: “Strive not to be a person of success, but rather to be a person of value.” Albert Einstein’s words reminded us to focus on the process, enjoy the experience, and make meaningful use of the opportunity we were given. What initially began as just an A-Level project gradually developed into something that could potentially benefit society, which made the journey even more meaningful for us.” - Jazel Neo Zi-Min, Lexi Liu (25S6K)
