Note:
1) School fees will be adjusted accordingly for pupils under Scholarships or Special Programmes.
2) School fees may be subject to review and revision by the school.

School fees payable by Singaporean students on MOE Scholarship

Please note that the annual award quantum cap of $2,400 for all MOE scholarships will apply to all students.

The Edusave or any other MOE Scholarships will cover the school fees of $200 per month and the student needs to pay the balance of the monthly school fees to HCI unless the student is also a recipient of MOE Independent School Bursary (ISB).

School fees payment

The school fees payable is structured by spreading an annual fee over 12 months of the academic year. As such, students who join in February have to pay fees for January; and those who leave after 5th October will have to pay fees for November and December.

School fees will be deducted through Interbank Giro on 15th of each month; or the next working day if the 15th day of the month falls on a weekend or Public Holiday, unless otherwise advised.

Interbank Giro Application Form

It is compulsory for all students to take part in the Inter-bank Giro scheme. Parents / guardians are to submit the Interbank Giro application form for the scheme upon admission of their child/ward to HCI.This is to facilitate the school to collect school fees and any other fees as may be required from time to time.

Students who require financial assistance at any point of time can approach either their Form teachers or Head of Consortium for advice on the application for the above funds.

4 . Trip for Internationalization Experience (TIE)
- For Singapore Citizens, the TIE provides a subsidy for overseas learning journeys to Asia with a focus on ASEAN countries, school immersion programmes and student exchange programmes with a cultural focus. The TIE fund needs no application and is granted to all Singaporean students who are going on eligible overseas trips.

MOE Independent School Bursary (ISB) Scheme

Eligibility Criteria

Student is a Singapore Citizen, and meets either the gross monthly household income (GHI) or per capita income (PCI) criterion shown in the table below.

Tenure of Bursary

All MOE ISB approved will be valid till December of the year or when your child is no longer eligible for financial assistance, whichever is earlier. Fresh applications will have to be submitted for each school year.

Effective Month

Student can apply for MOE ISB at any time of the year. It will take effect in the month the application is approved. There will be no backdating of the effective month.

Newly admitted students are to submit their ISB application latest by end Feb 2024 for ISB subsidy to take effect from Jan 2024.

Income Criteria and Benefits

Students need only satisfy either the monthly Gross Household Income (GHI) or the PCI criterion to qualify for ISB. More information can be found in the Annex I of the ISB Application Form.

Completed ISB Application Form, together with required supporting documents are to be submitted to High School or College Reception Office.

Student Insurance Matters

All students are automatically covered under the school’s Students’ Accident Protection (PA) Insurance Scheme and Group Overseas Travel Insurance Plan.

The policies offer basic coverage to help partially defray the costs incurred by the students due to accidents and claimable events in the case of overseas travel insurance.

While students need not pay for PA policy; the premium for Travel Insurance is chargeable on a per trip basis and included in the overseas trip cost.

(I) Students’ Accident Protection Scheme

Coverage	24 hours coverage for all school activities and/or CCAs both in and out of school.
Claim Procedure	1 . Report to AB Lim (via online reporting at www.ablim.com.sg, email, fax or phone) within 31 days from date of accident. 2 . Details on the insurance coverage; claim procedure and AB Lim’s contacts can be found together with the Claim form, downloadable Here 3. The required supporting documents are as follows: All ORIGINAL MEDICAL BILLS/RECEIPTS/TAX INVOICES incurred for medical treatments and/or consultations. A Medical Report (obtained at the Claimant’s expense) must be furnished for claims exceeding S$1,000. For Motor-related Accidents, a copy of the Police Report is required. For Fatal cases, the following additional documents must be furnished: Coroner’s Report Birth Certificate Death Certificate Confirmation Letter from the School 4. Completed Claim form and all necessary supporting documents (as listed under item 3 above) in PDF or JPEG format are to be emailed to claims@ablim.com.sg. Kindly keep all the ORIGINAL documents for at least 6 months from the date of submission. They must be made readily available upon request. Alternatively, send the completed Claim Form and all the necessary documents to AB Lim’s office by “REGISTERED POST”. (Please write down the Insured Person’s Name & “Hwa Chong Institution” on the envelope). 5. There is no need for the School to endorse the Claim form. Note that the information on the brochure is to provide an outline of the coverage only and is not a policy document. The terms and conditions of the Insurer's policy document shall prevail at all times. Any claim related query should be directed to AB Lim (Mr Philip Leow or Ms Stella Teo at 62722277).

(II) Group Overseas Travel Insurance

Coverage	24 hours coverage for all overseas school trips. Click here to download the Travel Insurance Benefit Summary. Note that this summary is to provide an outline of the coverage only and is not a policy document. The terms and conditions of the Insurer's policy document shall prevail at all times.
Claim Procedure	a. Insurance claims involving recovering of trip costs (eg airfare in the case of cancelled trip) for school’s subsidized trips are to be handled and submitted by the school if co-payments have been made by students. The school will submit an insurance claim for the affected group as the settlement is to be allocated between the students and the school. The teacher in charge is to contact Finance Department to arrange for the claim submission. b. Personal insurance claims such as medical expenses/benefits or baggage loss/damage (where 100% of the settlements are to be paid to the individual claimants) are be submitted directly by the claimants to the insurer via the its Claim Submission Portal, URL as follow: https://singapore.merimen.com/claims/index.cfm?fusebox=MTRCmt&fuseaction=client_portal&GCOID=200800 Steps: 1. Read the “Checklist” to understand and obtain the required supporting documents 2. Select “Submit a Claim”, and then “Travel (Policy No Starting with TTT, TAT or TZT)” 3. Select “Claim Type” 4. Claimant will also receive an acknowledgement email sent to the email address entered at the Personal Information section Claimants can also check the claim status via Zurich’s Claim Submission Portal. For claim related queries on travel insurance claims, please email the queries to the broker’s Claim Team at EH&B@mercermarshbenefits.com, together with the settlement letter and/or the copy of the paid itemized invoice or any other supporting documents surrounding the claims (where applicable) so that the claim team can review and analyse the claim before providing advice.
